Heheh, did you come here thinking, "OMG UMEKO HAS STARTED DOING BIRTHDAY PAGES AGAIN OMG YAY!!!!11one"?
Heh, you wish. Besides, it's not even Shizuka-chan's birthday. It's actually Bandit Keith's birthday today, but that's beside the point.
So, back in late 2003/early 2004 Mab and I were members of a Yu-Gi-Oh! Livejournal RP. She played Bakura, and I played Shizuka-chan. ^o^
Eventually I came across a problem: Shizuka-chan had no birthday that I knew of. She NEEDED a birthday!! So in one post, I said:
| "[Does] anyone know if Shizuka-chan has a birthday? I haven't found one for her, but if there isn't, I'll make it up!! She can be a Sagittarius, because none of the other YGO characters are Sagittarius'..." |
Unfortunately, nobody knew, and that post turned into a discussion about Honda the Robo-Monkey.
A few hours later, I made another post announcing that Lethe had joined as Malik, and also:
| "Oh, yes, Shizuka-chan's birthday is now officially December 10. Or as official as I can make it, which, frankly, isn't very much." |
So, there we had it! Shizuka-chan's birthday would from then on be December 10, simply because I said so!
A month later, I mentioned again that Shizuka-chan was a Sagittarius because I said so, and then some raondom person who was NOT part of the RPG commented with this!
| "Hope you don't mind me posting this here, but I do have to say something. Shizuka is a Saggitarius. Her birthday is in the early part of December. I think it is December 7th, but I'm not sure." |
OH! OH NO!! I WAS A WHOLE THREE DAYS OFF!! AW, CRUD!! I SUCK!!!
Now, where did this person supposedly find this information?

The title of the aforementioned book, in its entirety, is "Yu-Gi-Oh! Characters Guide Book -Shinri no Fukuin- ~The Gospel of Truth~" if anyone was wondering. I know this because I bought it Mab bought it for me at Otakon!
Immediately I went looking for Shizuka-chan's profile, and Mab said, "If it turns out that she doesn't have a birthday, you can rant at people to not tell you that Shizuka has one."
Guess what?
SHIZUKA-CHAN DOES NOT HAVE A BIRTHDAY.
DO NOT EVER TELL ME THAT SHIZUKA-CHAN HAS A BIRTHDAY, BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T!! IT'S JUST AS LIKELY THAT HER BIRTHDAY IS DECEMBER 10 AS ANY OTHER DAY.
